The Ashley Cooper Stormwater Education Consortium is a partnership between communities (MS4s), universities, agencies, and non-profits working together to implement a regional, watershed-scale stormwater runoff education program in the Charleston urbanized area. The effort was spearheaded in the Charleston region by the Clemson Carolina Clear Program. Participating communities include the counties of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester; and the municipalities of Charleston, Folly Beach, Hanahan, Isle of Palms, James Island, Lincolnville, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Sullivans Island, and Summerville. Education partners with Carolina Clear include: SC Sea Grant Consortium, College of Charleston, SC DNR-NERRS ACE Basin Coastal Training Program, SC DNR-Soil and Water Conservation Districts, SC DNR-SCORE Program, Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission, Keep America Beautiful affiliates, SC Native Plants Society, Surfrider Foundation and Charleston Waterkeeper.
