2012 Tri-County Lawn Mower Exchange

Date

March 24, 2012

Location

Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park

Narrative

The use and production of fossil fuels definitely impacts our environment. Mobile sources that burn fossil fuels such as cars and trucks are the single biggest source of air pollution in South Carolina. But what about "off-road" sources of air pollution like your gas-powered lawn mower? Most people do not associate air pollution with lawn and garden maintenance. Yet emissions from lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and similar outdoor power equipment are a significant source of air pollution. To curb air pollution from yard tool sources the 2012 Tri-County Lawn Mower Exchange will be held on Saturday, March 24th at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. Residents of Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties are encouraged to participate!
