This year’s conference will showcase proven strategies and innovative practices that protect people and property from the effects of floods, storms, and other natural hazards. Sessions will highlight the importance of maintaining these essential efforts through comprehensive hazard mitigation planning and implementation.
Conference Partnerships offer your organization a valuable opportunity to be recognized as a supporter of hazard mitigation and resilience efforts across South Carolina. All partners will receive recognition throughout the conference based on their level of participation.
We are accepting abstracts that illustrate and express your expertise, knowledge and views on hazards affecting the floodplain. The topics can include: the various permitting processes, flood hazard mapping, FEMA funding, new technologies, floodplain developments’ subdivisions, insurance, case studies or success stories involving floodplain projects, CRS, or other floodplain related topics. Topics of a similar nature are welcome, as are case studies illustrating related principles. The Association is specifically seeking case study presentations from local governments. Proposals constituting sales pitches for products or services will not be considered. Please submit: your abstract of 300 words or less and presenter contact information and presenter bio to Daryle Fontenot at Daryle.fontenot@aecom.com . Abstracts and bio must be submitted no later than Friday January 9, 2026. Selected presenters will be notified by email by early February
