ACE Basin Symposium: Connecting Science and Outreach

Researchers and outreach professionals from many disciplines working in and around the ACE Basin will get together to share research projects with strong outreach, education and engagement components and science-based education and outreach projects. Attendees will gain knowledge of a variety of outreach types, including k-12 education, training, community science and stakeholder engagement, and be able to seek input on their own projects from experienced outreach professionals through round table discussions. Connections made between researchers and outreach professionals will enhance projects in the ACE Basin and surrounding areas.


8:30 AM – Sign in and Coffee

9:00 AM – Welcome and Meet the ACE Basin Coordinators

9:30 – Oral Presentations – learn about research, outreach and management projects taking place in and around the ACE Basin. (yes, there will be a break between presentations!)

12:30 PM – Lunch (provided to attendees)

1:15 PM Poster Session – even more research, outreach and management projects taking place in and around the ACE Basin.

2:30 PM – Outreach and Engagement Round Tables – chat with professionals specializing in these areas: training, media relations, data visualization, volunteers and community science, economic evaluation of training and workshops, k-12 education, adult education, stewardship, extension, and stakeholder engagement. Get advice on how to start, strengthen or extend your research or management project by using these strategies.
