Narrative

Living on the South Carolina coast means that residents will come into contact with water, whether through leisure activities or weather events. In this course, we will talk about the coastal ecosystems and the services they provide, and how coastal residents experience different flooding effects from the individual to community level. FEMA flood zones and flood maps will be examined so that their details may be explained to potential clients. Finally, local resources and information pertinent to coastal residents about the benefits of the Community Rating System and emergency preparedness will be shared.
