Narrative

City of Georgetown: Role Play Simulation on Sea Level Rise and Flooding

Georgetown RISE will host a Role Play Simulation workshop for the City of Georgetown on September 20th from 2:00 – 4:30pm at the Coastal Carolina University Georgetown Campus, 903 Front Street, Georgetown.

This workshop is the first in a series of Role Play Simulations that will take place in Georgetown County throughout the fall. As part of a NOAA Scientific Transfer grant, this project investigates climate concerns specific to Georgetown through a Role Play Simulation exercise that reflects our county. Role Play Simulations use a consensus building approach that allows members of our community to play the roles of stakeholders in climate change planning conversations. After, we will conduct a de-briefing, which will serve as a sounding board for policy recommendations from the community. At the end of the process, we will report our findings on community opinion on climate planning and policy recommendations that arose from those conversations.

This is a FREE event, but registration is required. Refreshments will be provided.
