Coastal Wetland Identification

Narrative

This introductory course aims to increase the ability of local decision makers to identify wetlands and understand wetland boundaries based upon hydrologic, soil, and vegetation indicators commonly found in the Lowcountry of SC. Dr. Richard Darden with the US Army Corps of Engineers will lead classroom and field instruction, which will include site visits to wetlands on Caw Caw Interpretive Center property. Participants should dress for the weather and be prepared to tromp around in the woods and mud.
