Narrative

As part of a research partnership with the College of Charleston and the University of Oklahoma, the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium will be hosting a small-group session on Tuesday, May 8 from 5-8 pm at the Joseph P. Riley Jr. Center for Livable Communities at 176 Lockwood Drive in Downtown Charleston. The overriding goal is to explore a new discussion format for including a wide variety of views in natural resources planning. We are seeking residents of coastal counties with diverse viewpoints and a stake in issues facing coastal South Carolina, or those who might just want to learn more. The topics will include:

  • Local Seafood – oysters, crabs, and fish
  • Coastal Habitat – marsh, rivers, and beaches
  • Weather and Climate – flooding and storms related to our living marine resources

Apply to participate by sending an email to OCFF@scseagrant.org or by calling 843-953-2082. Stipends are available for participation. Space is limited so you must apply to attend.  Applications will be accepted through April 27. Late applicants may be considered. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Please spread the word throughout your professional and personal networks.
