Narrative

As part of a research partnership with the College of Charleston and the University of Oklahoma, the S.C. Sea Grant Consortium will be hosting a small-group session on Wednesday, May 2 from 5-8 pm at the Myrtle Beach Historic Train Depot. The overriding goal is to explore a new discussion format for including a wide variety of views in natural resources planning. We are seeking residents of coastal counties with diverse viewpoints and a stake in issues facing coastal South Carolina, or those who might just want to learn more. Topics will include:

  • Coastal Energy Development – oil/gas, wind, and solar
  • Beach Renourishment – beach erosion and sand replenishment
  • Weather and Climate – flooding and storms related to changes in our beaches, shorelines, and energy development

Apply to participate by sending an email to OCFF@scseagrant.org or by calling 843-953-2082. Stipends are available for participation. Space is limited so you must apply to attend.  Applications will be accepted through April 20. Late applicants may be considered. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Please spread the word throughout your professional and personal networks.
