Date

May 17, 2012

Location

South Strand Recreation Park, 9650 Scipio Lane, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588

Narrative

Conway, South Carolina – Horry County along with Charleston Aquatic Nurseries and the Coastal Waccamaw Stormwater Education Consortium, will sponsor a demonstration of the installation of floating wetlands on May 17, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Strand Recreation Park at 9650 Scipio Lane in Myrtle Beach. The demonstration is free and open to the public.

This alternative algae control method preserves water quality while using natural plants which not only beautifies ponds but also provides habitat for everything from otters to fish to turtles and birds.

Property and home owner’s associations, management companies and interested citizens are encouraged to drop in throughout the event.
