Narrative

This is a workshop for local sea island residents of St. Helena, county government officials, and other interested members of the public to learn about the importance of being in the land-use planning and water quality loop. The workshop objectives are: to provide an introduction to water quality and land use in light of increasing population, changing land use, and impacts on estuarine water quality and habitats, ground water quality, and sustainability of communities; to acquaint participants with local and state resources in water quality, coastal ecosystems and land use; and to acquaint participants with personal and community strategies to improve and sustain water quality, land use, and coastal ecosystems.
